My Technology Use

Through out my schooling I have not really used technology very often. I went to middle school in Hooksett where we had the typical computer lab that was used during a class time. In the computer lab we went over typing skills and a few different programs such as word, excel, powerpoint, and garageband. When I was in the regular classroom we did not use technology to enhance the learning process. When I moved on to high school my technology accessibility got worse. In my high school most of the classrooms did not have a working computer. In the classroom almost all of the teachers did not use technology to improve their lessons.

When I am a Music Educator I would like to incorporate as much technology as possible in to my classroom environment. I think that combining technology in to a music classroom is something that should happen more often. There are many creative ways to achieve this. By just using simple programs the students can receive great feedback and skills. Using recording devices can make a huge difference in the way a students practices their music. I would absolutely love to explore different music education technology tools.

How I Got Here

My name is Steven and I am a junior here at Southern New Hampshire University and my major here at SNHU is Music Education. What brought me here to SNHU you may ask, well I am not actually really sure. After I graduated high school from Manchester Central I decided to take a year off of school. During this year I worked full time in the construction business. While I was working full time someone by the name of Rick Cook started talking to me about coming to SNHU to join the Music Education program. At first I was a little hesitant but I started thinking more and more about it and finally in late spring I decided I would send in my application. I am loving the Music Ed program here and I am very happy I am very happy I came to SNHU.
